Presidential Updates

I’m thrilled about the upcoming AniMinneapolis. We have some of my favorite people coming as guests; people who have been in the anime industry for decades, supporting it for the love of fans around the world.

As the President, I am thrilled to announce the upcoming AniMinneapolis event, which promises to be an amazing gathering of anime fans from all over the world. It is a great honor to have some of my favorite people in the anime industry coming as guests, and I know that their presence will make the event even more special.

The guests we have lined up for AniMinneapolis have been supporting the anime industry for decades, and their passion for the art form is evident in their work. They have brought to life some of the most iconic characters in anime history and have become household names among fans.

These guests have devoted their lives to bringing joy to fans around the world, and I am honored to have them be a part of our convention. They have created a lasting legacy in the industry and continue to inspire new generations of fans to this day.

Their contributions to the anime industry have been invaluable, and it is only fitting that we honor them at AniMinneapolis. Their presence will be a reminder of the incredible impact that anime has had on our lives and will continue to have for years to come.

Most of our guests are more than just voice actors to me. They are good friends and pillars of the community. For example, Greg Ayres has been signing autographs for fans for free for decades, as he wants to support young fans who are just getting excited about anime and the anime industry. He also leads panels on topics for the most vulnerable members of our society in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Jay Hickman is another great example, as he really shows his dedication to entertaining fans at the conventions during fun events like “Karaoke with the Guests”. You can tell he has a passion for sharing music and voice with fans, which is incredible to see from a talented entertainer.

Awesome Guests

AniMinneapolis is not just a convention, it is a celebration of the anime community and the passion we all share for this art form. We come together to celebrate our favorite shows, characters, and creators, and to share that love with others.

Plus we do something that seems to only still be happening at our conventions and a few other conventions in Minnesota. Most of the country doesn’t do this any more: The ConSweet.

The ConSweet is a place where attendees can grab some snacks and drinks for free. We have chips, candy, soda, and even ramen noodles. It’s a great way to keep attendees fueled up during the long days of the convention, and it’s a way to show our appreciation for their support.

I’m so proud that we continue to offer the ConSweet at AniMinneapolis, even though it’s becoming less common in the convention scene. We believe it’s important to give back to our attendees and make their experience as enjoyable as possible.

At AniMinneapolis, we strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for fans of all backgrounds and interests. We hope that our guests feel comfortable and safe throughout the weekend, and that they leave feeling happy and fulfilled.

I am excited to see what this year’s AniMinneapolis will bring, and I am confident that it will be an unforgettable experience for all who attend. So let’s come together and celebrate our love for anime with our amazing guests, and make this year’s AniMinneapolis the best one yet.

Anime Minneapolis will be May 26-28, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.
