Double The Property Tax Exemption

I will double the homeowner property tax exemption for all homeowners.

Free School Lunches

I will mandate that no school district can deny meals to students who can not afford them, and I will set minimum standards for these school lunches. HUNDREDS of studies have shown that students learn as much as 90% less when they are hungry!

Corporate Price Transparency Act

I will sign into a law an act that makes it illegal to collect any fees, service charges, surcharges, and markups that are not disclosed at the same time as the advertised or displayed price. I will require all retailers, hotels, and corporations to make price transparency the standard, make it illegal to collect on hidden fees, and provide penalties for price obfuscation.

Non-Partisan Redistricting Commission

I will make it a law that election districts must be drawn using no more than 10 straight lines, making grouping voters by interest possible but making gerrymandering far more difficult. This will help ensure everyone has a more equal vote, and the strength of your vote is not so strongly determined by where you live.

Ensure Legal Access to Abortion

Pregnancy can be used to control women's autonomy. I will stop this, and protect women's autonomy by securing abortion access as a legal right, preventing governmental overreach into personal health choices. This ensures safe, regulated care, reducing risks that arise from illegal procedures and safeguarding a woman’s right to decide her reproductive future.

Guarantee Immediate Divorce Rights

Several states make it illegal for a woman to get a divorce while pregnant, even if she has been the victim of domestic violence. I will make it legal for divorce under any circumstances, ensuring all individuals, especially those in abusive situations, have the right to swift and accessible divorce proceedings.

Strictly Penalize Corporate Polluters

I will set mandatory profit-based and revenue-based fines for corporations that pollute our farmlands and waterways.

Simplify Business Licensing and Operations

I will eliminate ordinances that make it difficult to start a business, and I will exempt small businesses that make under $10k a year from many regulations.

I will make it legal to escape jail.

In Germany, it is illegal to attempt to escape from jail - because it is recognized as a natural human instinct to try to escape. Our system is oppressive by making "resisting arrest" and escaping jail illegal. I will make escaping no longer a crime on its own for any nonviolent offenders, as long as no other people are harmed during the attempts.

I will give police a legal responsibility to help.

Courts have ruled that police officers are under no obligation to help citizens if they don't want to. I will make it a legal responsibility that police officers MUST help citizens if the request is reasonable and safe.

I will end third chances.

Repeat criminal offenders will be prosecuted and there will be mandatory sentences. Not long - long sentences are not a deterrent to crime - but long enough to keep our streets safer for a little longer.

I will end cash bail for people with jobs.

For any person who can prove they have a job, I will keep them out of jail for their first offense, so they can keep working. Ruining someone's life for a stupid or minor crime will just cause them to commit more crimes.

I will protect the police.

I will enshrine immunity to prosecution into the law for police ONLY in cases where there is clearly "no reasonable doubt" about a serious crime being committed.

I will make fines income-based.

I will set the fines for most crimes to be income-based (with minimums to continue to discourage crime).

Paid Parental Leave

I will enforce paid parental leave (3 weeks) on companies with over 25 full time employees, ensuring parents can bond with and care for newborns without financial burden.

Abolish For-Profit Prisons

I will end contracts with for-profit prison operators in our state, removing financial incentives to incarcerate people and ensuring that rehabilitation, not profit, is the focus of our prison system.

Humane Conditions for Rehabilitation

I will require prisons to meet strict standards for humane treatment, including access to mental health services, educational programs, and safe living conditions. We cannot treat people like animals and expect them to become more human.

Election Day Unpaid Leave

I will mandate that all employers allow employees up to four hours of unpaid leave to vote on Election Day. It will be a felony for employers to deny this leave unless they pay employees triple-time for hours worked during that period.

Mandatory Solar Permit Approval

I will mandate that no county can deny a solar installation permit based solely on zoning preferences, ensuring residents’ right to install solar panels on their properties.

Government Clean Energy

I will mandate that our government runs on clean energy IF the clean energy is available more cheaply than other forms of energy.
