Fighting for Students

Billionaires and mega-corporations are stealing from all of us. For decades, politicians have promised relief while quietly shifting the tax burden away from the ultra-wealthy and onto working people. The result? Stagnant wages, skyrocketing costs, and a system rigged against everyday Iowans.

Nowhere is this more obvious than in education. College costs have exploded while universities waste money on bloated administrations instead of actual teaching. K-12 schools are underfunded, pushing students into overcrowded classrooms while hiring cops instead of counselors. And bullying policies continue to fail, leaving students without real protection.

I will fight to lower college costs, properly fund K-12 schools, increase counselors, reduce police in schools, and enforce real anti-bullying measures so that students can actually learn in a safe and fair environment.

Lowering College Costs by Cutting Administrative Waste

Universities claim they have no choice but to raise tuition, yet they spend millions on pointless administrative positions while underpaying professors who actually teach. STEM programs—where students gain real-world job skills—are underfunded while money is wasted on useless bureaucracy.

I will push for mandatory spending minimums on STEM professor salaries so universities can’t keep funneling money into administrative bloat. If a university has money for million-dollar diversity consultants, they have money to pay engineering professors.

Fixing Underfunded K-12 Schools

Wealthy neighborhoods get well-funded schools while lower-income students are left with broken facilities, outdated books, and overcrowded classrooms. Meanwhile, politicians cut school budgets while giving tax breaks to billionaires.

I will push for full funding for public schools, ensuring every student gets access to modern resources, updated materials, and reasonable class sizes—regardless of their zip code.

More Counselors, Fewer Police in Schools

Schools have replaced counselors with security officers, treating students like criminals instead of kids. Instead of providing mental health support, schools rely on police to handle behavioral issues—leading to more suspensions, arrests, and a pipeline straight to the justice system.

I will push to replace unnecessary school police with trained counselors. Students struggling with mental health, stress, or home life need guidance, not handcuffs.

Real Anti-Bullying Policies

Schools love to talk about “zero tolerance” for bullying, but in reality, they do little to stop it. Too often, schools punish victims instead of bullies, or worse—ignore the problem entirely.

I will require schools to actually enforce anti-bullying policies that hold bullies accountable, not just throw meaningless “zero tolerance” labels on the issue. If a school fails to protect its students, it will face consequences.

Our Plan for Students

  • Lower college costs by forcing universities to spend more on STEM professors and less on administrative waste.
  • Fully fund K-12 schools so every student gets access to proper resources and facilities.
  • Hire more school counselors and reduce unnecessary police presence.
  • Enforce real anti-bullying policies that protect victims instead of punishing them.
  • Make billionaires pay their fair share instead of letting them dodge education funding.

Students should be able to focus on learning—not on how to afford tuition, how to deal with unsafe schools, or how to survive a broken system. My campaign is about fighting for students and fixing the mess that politicians and corporate lobbyists created.
