Fighting for Iowa’s Rural Communities

Billionaires and mega-corporations are stealing from all of us. For decades, politicians have promised relief while quietly shifting the tax burden away from the ultra-wealthy and onto working people. The result? Stagnant wages, skyrocketing costs, and a system rigged against everyday Iowans.

Nowhere is this more obvious than in rural communities. While big cities get major infrastructure investments, rural towns are left with crumbling roads, unreliable internet, and higher utility prices. Meanwhile, giant corporations buy up farmland, drain resources, and leave small towns behind.

It’s time to invest in rural Iowa. I will fight for affordable solar energy, lower electric prices, better infrastructure, safe drinking water, and real economic opportunities so that rural communities don’t just survive—they thrive.

Lowering Electric Prices with Solar Energy

Rural Iowans pay some of the highest electricity rates in the country, while big power companies rake in record profits. It doesn’t have to be this way—solar power is cheaper, cleaner, and keeps money in local communities.

I will push for expanded rural solar programs, including:

  • Subsidies for homes and farms to install solar panels.
  • State-backed low-interest loans to make solar energy affordable.
  • Community solar projects so small towns can generate their own electricity instead of overpaying corporate utilities.
No more price gouging—rural Iowa deserves energy independence.

Fixing Rural Infrastructure

Rural roads, bridges, and public services have been neglected for decades. Instead of fixing them, politicians keep handing out tax cuts to billionaires while rural communities are left with potholes and outdated water systems.

I will direct state infrastructure funding to rural areas to fix roads, expand public transportation, and ensure rural towns get the same quality of services as urban areas.

Safe Drinking Water for Every Town

Corporate agriculture and factory farms have polluted Iowa’s water supply with nitrates and chemicals, poisoning wells and local drinking water. Yet, instead of holding polluters accountable, politicians force small towns to foot the bill for water treatment.

I will crack down on corporate polluters with steep fines and force them to pay for water treatment costs. Every Iowan—no matter where they live—deserves clean, safe drinking water.

Expanding Rural Internet Access

High-speed internet is a necessity, but many rural areas still lack reliable service. Big telecom companies refuse to expand rural broadband because it’s not profitable enough, leaving small towns cut off from modern opportunities.

I will fund municipal broadband projects to bring high-speed internet to rural Iowa—no more waiting for giant corporations to decide small towns are worth their time.

Revitalizing Rural Economies

Small businesses and family farms built rural America, but corporate monopolies are trying to wipe them out. Big-box stores, industrial farming, and Wall Street land grabs are draining the wealth from rural communities.

I will push for:

  • Higher taxes on corporate landowners to prevent land speculation.
  • Grants for local small businesses to keep rural towns economically strong.
  • Anti-monopoly laws to stop big corporations from crushing family farms.
Rural communities should control their own economies—not be at the mercy of billionaires and investors.

Our Plan for Rural Communities

  • Lower electric prices by expanding solar power programs.
  • Fix roads, bridges, and public services with direct infrastructure funding.
  • Ensure clean drinking water by making corporate polluters pay for contamination.
  • Expand high-speed internet with state-backed municipal broadband.
  • Support rural businesses with grants, land protections, and anti-monopoly laws.
  • Make billionaires and big corporations pay their fair share instead of draining rural resources.

Rural Iowa is not a place to be ignored—it is the backbone of this state. My campaign is about investing in small towns, family farms, and local businesses, not selling them out to corporate greed.
