Fighting for Men in Iowa

Billionaires and mega-corporations are stealing from all of us. For decades, politicians have promised relief while quietly shifting the tax burden away from the ultra-wealthy and onto working people. The result? Stagnant wages, skyrocketing costs, and a system rigged against everyday Iowans.

Men are working longer hours for less pay, yet the cost of living keeps rising. The billionaires at the top manipulate the economy while everyday men struggle to provide for their families, afford a home, and save for the future. Meanwhile, corporate lobbyists fight against paid family leave, workplace protections, and fair legal treatment for fathers.

It’s time to stop the political games and focus on real solutions for working men. I will fight to ensure fair wages, strong workplace protections, and policies that recognize the vital role men play in their families and communities.

Mental Health Leave for Working Men

The stigma around men’s mental health is costing lives. Suicide rates among men are alarmingly high, yet corporate policies and outdated laws make it nearly impossible for men to take time off when they need help. Many workplaces provide little to no mental health support, forcing men to "tough it out" instead of getting the care they deserve.

I will push for mandatory mental health leave policies in all workplaces, ensuring that men can take the time they need to seek support without fear of losing their jobs. Men shouldn’t have to choose between their health and their paycheck.

Paid Family Leave for Fathers

When a family welcomes a new child, fathers should have the right to be there. Yet in Iowa, many new dads are forced back to work within days—while billionaires and executives take extended vacations whenever they please. Fathers deserve the chance to bond with their newborns without risking financial hardship.

I will fight to guarantee paid family leave for fathers, allowing every man the time he needs to support his partner and child in the crucial early weeks of parenthood. Family leave shouldn’t be a luxury—it should be a right.

Divorce and Custody Equality

The family court system is broken. Fathers who want to be active in their children’s lives are too often treated unfairly in custody battles. Men face an uphill battle for equal parenting rights, while outdated legal biases assume mothers are always the better choice.

I will work to ensure that Iowa courts operate under the presumption of **equal shared parenting**, giving fathers a fair chance at custody and a meaningful role in their children’s lives. If a father is fit to parent, he should not have to fight tooth and nail for equal time with his child.

Protecting Working-Class Men

Billionaires and corporations get tax breaks while working-class men struggle to make ends meet. Whether it’s factory workers, construction laborers, or office employees, men are being overworked and underpaid while the ultra-rich continue to rake in record profits.

I will push for wage increases, fair overtime pay, and stronger workplace protections to ensure that men can earn a living wage and build a secure future for their families.

Our Plan for Men in Iowa

  • Guarantee **mental health leave** so men can take care of themselves without risking their jobs.
  • Establish **paid family leave for fathers**, allowing dads to support their partners and newborns.
  • Ensure **equal custody rights** in divorce cases, so fathers have a fair chance at parenting.
  • Raise wages and strengthen workplace protections for **working-class men**.
  • Make billionaires pay their fair share, so men aren’t forced to shoulder the economic burden alone.

Men deserve more than being treated as disposable workers. My campaign is about fairness, justice, and making sure all men in Iowa have the rights, wages, and support they need to thrive.
